The innovative learning process at Tourism Faculty, Unika De La Salle Manado needs to be evaluated and improved. Therefore, the 3 years old Faculty was carrying out a comparative study by visiting the icon of Indonesian tourism, Bali Island. This is a great program to be conducted so that students can see, experience and analyze the development of a tourist destination.

In order to support this program, Tourism Faculty conducted a Study Tour program to Bali from 14 to 19 February 2018. In this Study Tour, the group was led by permanent lecturers, namely Oktavianus Samuel, SE.Par., MM., and Machiko Tenda, SE.Par. M.Par., Head of Study Program.

A special workshop of Table Manners was held during the first day in cooperation with Hotel Patra Jasa Bali then followed by visiting famous tourist destinations such as Pantai Pandawa, Jimbaran, Tanah Lot, Kuta, etc. Paying a visit to these locations will help students see and learn a “tourist lifestyle” which is completely different from those in Manado City.

Accordingly, our students will increasingly feel the importance of destination management skills, said Teddy Tandaju, MBA (Adv.), the accompanying Dean. “This is our first Study Tour program to be carried out and, in the future, it will continue to be implemented as one of Tourism Faculty’s Enrichment Programs. During this study tour period, two cooperation opportunities were obtained for further follow up; namely cooperation between Higher Education with Bali International High School (SPBI) and Dyhana Pura University (Undira),” stated by Teddy Tandaju.
