- Background
The year 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of Universitas Katolik De La Salle Manado, a significant milestone in its journey of academic excellence and contribution to society. Over the past two and a half decades, the university has been dedicated to fostering quality education, advancing research, and nurturing a culture of lifelong learning. This anniversary serves as an opportunity to reflect on its achievements, address current challenges, and envision the future of education in an ever-evolving global landscape.
As part of the celebration, the university is organizing an International Seminar with the theme: “Educational Transformation and Its Implications on Learning Pedagogy.”
This seminar aims to explore how educational transformation affects pedagogical approaches and learning methodologies in the modern era. With the rapid advancement of technology, changing student demographics, and the increasing emphasis on interdisciplinary education, it is imperative to discuss how these changes shape teaching and learning practices.
One of the key aspects of educational transformation is the integration of technology in teaching and learning processes. Digital learning platforms, online education, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are reshaping the way knowledge is delivered and absorbed. AI-driven educational tools can personalize learning experiences, enhance student engagement, and assist educators in assessing student progress effectively. Moreover, AI applications such as chatbots, automated grading, and adaptive learning systems are enabling a more student-centered learning approach, where learners receive tailored support based on their unique needs.
The rise of Service Learning as an educational approach also highlights the need for experiential and community-based education. By integrating community service with academic learning, Service Learning promotes civic engagement, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving skills among students. The synergy between technology-based learning, AI-driven solutions, and Service Learning creates an educational ecosystem that is both innovative and socially responsible.
This seminar will bring together scholars, researchers, educators, and practitioners from around the world to share insights, experiences, and research findings. Through this event, participants will engage in meaningful discussions, exchange innovative ideas, and collaborate to address the challenges and opportunities that come with the evolving educational landscape. By fostering dialogue among international experts, this seminar aspires to contribute to the development of more effective, inclusive, and adaptive pedagogical strategies.
