"FROM & FOR APPROACH" AN INNOVATIVE STRATEGY TO BRING UP EDUCATION LEVEL OF PAPUAN STUDENTS AT UNIVESITAS KATOLIK DE LA SALLE MANADO, INDONESIA

Abstrak

Salah satu Semangat LaSallian yang menjadi pedoman dalam proses pengajaran di Unika De La Salle Manado (UDLSM) yakni "Transforming Live". Sejalan dengan semangat ini, UDLSM telah menjalin kerjasama dengan Lembaga Pengembangan Masyarakat Amungme & Kamoro (LPMAK), Papua sejak 2010 untuk program pendidikan regular dan matrikulasi. Berbagai program inovatif dan kreatif disiapkan untuk menangani para calon mahasiswa ini mengingat latar belakang pendidikan, budaya dan sosial yang sangat berbeda dengan kondisi daerah Minahasa/Manado di mana mereka akan hidup dan belajar, maka perlu dipersiapkan suatu sistem pembelajaran yang efektif dan efisien guna mencapai tujuan program pembinaan. Oleh karenanya, tim pendampingan UDLSM disiapkan dan selanjutnya tim ini menyiapkan program matrikulasi dengan pendekatan "From & For Approach". Program ini dinilai berhasil oleh pihak management LPMAK dimana UDLSM selalu mendapat penghargaan dalam program evaluasi tahunan sejak 2011-2014. Program ini menarik perhatian jaringan universitas De La Salle dunia yang tergabung dalam International Association LaSalle Universities (IALU) dan akhirnya diterima dalam seleksi sebagai "innovative learning" dan telah dipresentasikan dalam International LaSallian Symposium IV diselenggarakan oleh St. Mary University of Minnesota, USA. pada 29 September 2015.

Abstract

Information exchange in a network could lead into some problems, such as privacy problem, authentication problem, data integrity problem, and non repudiation problem. Thus, precise security acts are needed to solve those problems. Digital signature is a solution to solve those problems. Digital signature is basically just like a written signature, which is used to authenticate documents. The difference is that the written signature usually describes the name of a signer whereas the digital signature consists of cryptography codes of a message and a sender. Digital signature using hash function is one of the most used digital signatures. Unfortunately, this kind of digital signature can not solve all given problems, such as privacy problem and non repudiation problem. Therefore, RSA algorithm is needed to solve that problem. The result of this research is the implementation of digital signature along with RSA algorithm and MD5 hash function in a data transfer application.

KINERJA PEKERJA KEBUN SAYUR DI KELURAHAN KAKASKASEN I KECAMATAN TOMOHON UTARA KOTA TOMOHON (STUDI KHUSUS MOTIVASI KERJA,KOMPENSASI DAN KEPUASAN KERJA)

Abstrak

Sayur mayur merupakan hasil pertanian yang sangat penting dan dibutuhkan setiap orang. Hasil panen ikut menentukan ketersedian sayur mayur dipasaran. Kinerja daripekerja kebun sayur berpengaruh pada produksi sayur mayur. Penelitian ini fokus mengkaji faktor motivasi kerja, kompensasi dan kepuasan kerja sebagai penunjang kinerja pekerja kebun sayur. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu memperkaya ilmu pengetahuan khususnya menyangkut sumber daya manusia dan penerapannya dalam dunia usaha pertanian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingginya motivasi kerja diindikasikan dengan tercapainya pemenuhan kebutuhan finansial individu dan tujuan dari pemilik kebun sayur yang diemban oleh individu yang bersangkutan. Pemberian kompensasi yang sangat menghargai hasil kerja pekerja ladang sayur mayur, membuat para pekerja kebun sayur diperlakukan secara adil. Sementara itu kepuasan kerja dapat dicapai karena penerapan penerapan kebijakan oleh pemilik kebun sayur, kondisi kerja yang nyaman, terjalinnya suasana kebersamaan diantara pekerja ladang dan pemilik ladang.Sehingga keberhasilan kinerja karena optimalisasi faktor motivasikerja,kompensasi dan kepuasaan kerja dapat dicapai.

Abstract

Budget is a common thing that we can see on private sector companies, and also on public sector. The difference about budget concept between that two sectors is the disclosure. On private sector, budget is own by company and management, and can’t be published widely. While on public sector, budget must publish widely because related to public interest. Budget in public sector become important because it is one of government tool to point social-economics development, ensure stability, and improve life quality of citizen. Because that importance, this paper will discuss about general concept of budgeting and another things related to that, especially in government context.

Abstract

Reperfusion therapy is the main strategy in the treatment of patients with STEMI and reperfusion times faster, closely linked to the low number of mortality. One of the factors that contribute to the duration of reperfusion therapy is intrahospital factors. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the intrahospital factors against delay time of fibrinolytic therapy on STEMI patients The method used is a prospective cohort with analytic observational design. Sampling techniques was consecutive sampling with 22 respondents in June-July 2015 in the emergency department of RSUP Prof. R.D. Kandou Manado. Results of bivariate analysis show: door-to-ECG time (0.028), speed of transfer to ICCU (0,000), the speed of fibrinolytic therapy (0.022) was associated with a delay time of reperfusion therapy in STEMI patients. Results of multivariate linear regression analysis, the most dominant factor to do with the delay time of reperfusion therapy in STEMI patients is speed of transfer to the ICCU (0.871). The speed of transfer to ICCU is a factor that most contributes to the delay time of fibrinolytic therapy in STEMI patients. The longer the time interval of door-to-needle, causes a longer time to fibrinolytic therapy that result in increased mortality of STEMI patients.

Abstract

Nowadays, the organization faces the challenges to retain the quality employee based on the problem of employee turnover that become so highly. In organization, the top level management concern to retaining qualified employee as a strategic of organization to achive competitive advantage. This research focus on analyzes the cause of employee turnover that can be a policy desicion of top level management as strategize of employee retention based on the research before. Employee retention strategies proposed in this study can be applied by the organization in general and also in the organization who felt that the issue of maintaining quality employees was critical in achieving competitive advantage.

Abstract

Stroke is a decrease in neuronal function caused by the interruption of blood flow to the brain that occur suddenly with symptoms corresponding to the affected area and can happen to anyone, anywhere and anytime. Risk factors for stroke are hypertension, unhealthy diet, smoking etc. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of eating behavior on the incidence of stroke. The research method used is descriptive analytic, this study was a cross-sectional study. Decision enginering sample was a purposive sampling with sample size of 30 respondents who were in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria, the study was conducted in August 2015 until January 2016 at Polyclinic Hospital Budi Mulia Bitung. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire to obtain data on eating behavior and stroke, the data were obtained from the doctor is diagnosis that was supported by the data MRO (Medical Record Office). Results were using the computed chi-square test and Fisher is Exact Test, with the obtained p-value result of 0.306. Thus it was conclusion that there was no significant relationship between eating behavior on the incidence of stroke. This study aimed for stroke patients to keep observing the behavior of healthy eating and for future researcher in order to continue the study using research methods of long term of researcher and a different place with more samples and different independent variables.
